QB Alejandro Moore (HRR) goes #1 overall!

NEW YORK -- The Houston RoughRiders drafted Alejandro Moore #1 overall in the 2047 draft. The 6' 3" QB fits the team's needs perfectly. Said RoughRiders general manager: "It's up to us to develop him and get good players around him."

"The great thing about the game of football is, it's a team game," Moore said on a conference call. "I'm just going to be one piece of the puzzle."

Moore and Nox Mock Draft

Pick 1: Houston RoughRiders
Larry Moore: Robert Vela - G
In the run game he blocks well, shows tenacity and opens lanes. This will benefit the team. He fills a need for them. Great pick here.

Jim Nox: Robert Vela - G
Driving up his value is his ability to block on run plays. Teams need kids who can hold their own against fully grown men. Fans might not be on board with what can be framed as a need pick. But trust me once they see this kid play, they will be more than happy.

Pick 2: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: Todd Scott - CB
Known for showing up early and staying late. This is a kid who really contributes to the team spirit and the social cohesiveness on the team. Here is a kid that can make plays all over the field. His speed will be a great benefit to the defense. This guy is available. This guy fills a need. They have to take him. It makes so much sense.

Jim Nox: Todd Scott - CB
Known for showing up early and staying late. Known among his teammates as a bit of a goofball, but never in a bad way. The kind that keeps spirits high even when a season goes south. Nothing gets you drafted early like speed. This kid is going to get drafted early. The stars align for them to get him here. Just what they need. Blue-chip player with great upside. Hard to botch this pick.

Pick 3: Toronto North
Larry Moore: Alejandro Moore - QB
Plays with intelligence. Throws with purpose and power. He will get a great chance to earn the starting job. He fits what they are looking for. He is a solid player. Cannot go wrong here.

Jim Nox: Alejandro Moore - QB
He has good field vision. Will not leave the ball floating in the air, can deliver it low and hard. Fans, coaches, and teammates alike will be ecstatic to get him on the team. He fits what they need, he is such a great talent. Everything lines up.

Pick 4: New Orleans Reapers
Larry Moore: Calvin Holmes - T
He will occasionally throw of defenders to the ground when blocking them. He comes of the line with power and leverage on run plays. This is something that scouts notice. His pass blocking skills are definitely adding to his value. He will need to hold his own against fully grown men, and teams believe he can do that. You need him, just get him already.

Jim Nox: Calvin Holmes - T
Even if he is not the strongest, coaches like his strength. And he has enough of it. If you go to his tape, you will se he run blocks very well. His pass blocking skills is something teams like about him. Nothing to think about here. Pick up the kid, bring him into the building, put him om the field.

Pick 5: Nova Scotia Vikings
Larry Moore: Mark Krug - LB
Every team values leadership, someone to lead by example, this is the guy. 'Team player', this is the correct term for him. He makes everyone around him better. Has developed nice strength for being this early in his career. While not elite, his speed is good enough to deliver pressure and keep contain. They would be crazy not to take him here. A great fit, both in terms of what they need and the quality of player they get. This will put a smile on many faces.

Jim Nox: Mark Krug - LB
Every team would benefit from his leadership. This kid breeds synergy, teams play better when he is on the field. Not the strongest, but strong enough. Can maintain his leverage and shed blocks. People watching his tape often do not notice his speed. It is not something that jumps out at you, but he is pretty fast. Are there other guys worth picking here? Sure, but none of them fit this well with what they need, and he is a solid talent.

Pick 6: Memphis Pharaohs
Larry Moore: Gerald Rudolph - SS
Just his speed alone almost guarantees that he will be picked early. For defensive backs, you simplu cannot be slow. This guy is not slow, far from it. He addresses a need for them.

Jim Nox: Gerald Rudolph - SS
You cannot coach speed. Even if you could, this guy would not need it. When the available talent fits what you need, there is reason to celebrate. They are getting a great talent who will serve them for many years.

Pick 7: Seattle Totems
Larry Moore: Anthony Puente - FS
Wraps up well when tackling. He is a smart kid, and it shows when he plays. They need players at the position, and good ones at that. He fits the bill, he is worth the pick. End of story.

Jim Nox: Anthony Puente - FS
No nonsense tackler. You do not need to tell him things twice. Very quick learner. It is not often that the talent available fits perfectly with what you need. When it does, it makes for a win-win situation. This young man is going to be put in a position to succeed.

Pick 8: BCFC Bears
Larry Moore: Peter Magee - WR
Every team would benefit from his leadership. Rarely drops the ball. He plays faster than his forty might indicate. Are there other guys worth picking here? Sure, but none of them fit this well with what they need, and he is a solid talent.

Jim Nox: Peter Magee - WR
The kind of leadership he shows makes coaches salivate. Consistently comes down with the ball. Sufficient speed to run deep routes, and enough to make him tough to catch if you lose sight of him. Do not be afraid to draft a position of need here. This kid is well worthy of a pick this early. Perfect situation for him, and great fit for the team.

Pick 9: Houston RoughRiders
Larry Moore: Joseph Benson - G
Sportsmanship, love of the sport and respect, is what you get with him. The muscles on this kid should allow him to hold his own against pro competition. Smart player. Good understanding of how plays develop, and where to be. Nothing to think about here. Pick up the kid, bring him into the building, put him om the field.

Jim Nox: Joseph Benson - G
He is fundamentally a good kid. You rarely see him commit stupid penalties. Has impressed scouts with his strength. Coaches love strength, it gives him a high ceiling. Understands the game well. Knows what to do in different situations. Fits the bill, great quality pick, and fills a soft spot on the roster. They should have no qualms here, run to the podium and get your man.

Pick 10: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: Ronald Willey - LB
Really strong for a Linebacker. This is something that teams love. Coaches love how coachable he is. Do not be afraid to draft a position of need here. This kid is well worthy of a pick this early. Perfect situation for him, and great fit for the team.

Jim Nox: Ronald Willey - LB
In college, he dominated when bull rushing. He is strong enough that he can continue to do that in the pros. Very coachable. It is all about fit here. Is there a guy at a position of need, worthy of a pick this high? The answer, obviously, is 'heck yeah'.
