"I'm honored to receive this award because of the number of other worthy candidates who had some great years," Applegate said. "It was just fun for me, truly, to watch them. I'm just glad to be a part of it."

NEW YORK -- In his own view, Brian Dunning put together his best professional season in 2046. How appropriate, then, that he is the Wolverine Studios Sports Newtwork 2046 Defensive Player of the Year.

The versatile Dunning had 117 tackles, 10 sacks, 0 interceptions, and 1 forced fumbles with 0 defensive touchdowns, and was a key to the Pharaohs' turnaround on defense. His role on the defense earned Dunning a majority of votes Tuesday from a nationwide panel of 50 sports writers and broadcasters who cover the league.
