QB Roy Roe (WIN) goes #1 overall!

NEW YORK -- The Windsor Gamblers drafted Roy Roe #1 overall in the 2039 draft. The 6' 2" QB fits the team's needs perfectly. Said Gamblers general manager: "It's up to us to develop him and get good players around him."

"The great thing about the game of football is, it's a team game," Roe said on a conference call. "I'm just going to be one piece of the puzzle."

Moore and Nox Mock Draft

Pick 1: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: Leroy Silva - T
This is a player who takes the lead. Knows what it takes to achieve success at any level. He is driven by the love of the sport. Execution in the running game is something coaches have noticed about him. He blocks pretty well. Might not be what fans want, but there is a reason people are getting paid to make these decisions. This is a rock solid pick, and he fits what they are looking for. Fans will come around quickly once they see him play.

Jim Nox: Leroy Silva - T
Need a leader? He is your guy. Knows what it takes to achieve success at any level. He is fundamentally a good kid. You rarely see him commit stupid penalties. This is a guy who is already a pretty good blocker in the run game. Solid talent that fits their needs. Really that is all there is to it. Perfect situation. Take the money and run.

Pick 2: Nova Scotia Vikings
Larry Moore: Larry Groves - WR
His balance when catching the ball is good. You better not put a linebacker on this guy. Or a safety, for that matter. He is faster than his tape shows. Takes in instructions well. He can do what they want. He will deliver results early. He fits a need. End of story.

Jim Nox: Larry Groves - WR
Has pro ready catching ability, and that is what you are lookng for if you are going to take a receiver this high. Not a speedster per se, but faster than he is given credit for. He is a smart kid, and it shows when he plays. Once this kid gets in the building, they will be set at this position for years.

Pick 3: New Orleans Reapers
Larry Moore: Frank Carter - LB
Known for showing up early and staying late. Here you have a guy, who really benefits the atmosphere in the building. Everyone wants to be around him. Definitely good strength for a Defensive End. Will shed blocks and occasionally bull rush smaller opponents. Is fast enough to get sacks. Is fast enough to contain outside runs. Those are the players you look for at Defensive End. Once this kid gets in the building, they will be set at this position for years.

Jim Nox: Frank Carter - LB
Known for showing up early and staying late. This is a kid who really contributes to the team spirit and the social cohesiveness on the team. Has developed nice strength for being this early in his career. While not elite, his speed is good enough to deliver pressure and keep contain. He fills a hole at the position. Blue-chip player. Will fit right in and start right away. Love it.

Pick 4: Memphis Pharaohs
Larry Moore: John Scarbrough - FS
The kind of leadership he shows makes coaches salivate. Here you have a kid who puts in the work to succeed. Solid tackler. Has good instincts on the field. It is not often that the talent available fits perfectly with what you need. When it does, it makes for a win-win situation. This young man is going to be put in a position to succeed.

Jim Nox: John Scarbrough - FS
A real leader! Due to his work ethic, this kid is very coachable. Solid tackler. A really smart kid. Fans might not be on board with what can be framed as a need pick. But trust me once they see this kid play, they will be more than happy.

Pick 5: BCFC Bears
Larry Moore: Brian Dunning - LB
He has sufficient strength to not get bulllied on run plays. Is speedy enough to stay on the field in passing situations. If you watch the tape again, you can see he plays with nice instincts. He fills a need for them. Great pick here.

Jim Nox: Brian Dunning - LB
The muscles on this kid allows him to shed blocks and keep contain. You need to stay on him, or he will turn the edge on you. Teams want Defensive Ends that keep Offensive Tackles honest. Reacts quickly and puts himself in a position to make a play. Fits nicely with their needs. Fits nicely with the draft spot. Getting it right is important with these early picks. This guy is right.

Pick 6: Houston RoughRiders
Larry Moore: Roy Allen - T
Has nice technique when blocking on run plays. Keeps his leverage and finishes his blocks. Good instincts. Do not fret. You need him, fans love him. Surefire pick.

Jim Nox: Roy Allen - T
This is a guy who is already a pretty good blocker in the run game. His college teammates all point to how smart he is. Do not be afraid to draft a position of need here. This kid is well worthy of a pick this early. Perfect situation for him, and great fit for the team.

Pick 7: Seattle Totems
Larry Moore: Roy Roe - QB
The kind of leadership he shows makes coaches salivate. Football is a team sport, and he knows it. Will make tight throws. The ball leaves his hand with good speed. They will be running to the podium for this one.

Jim Nox: Roy Roe - QB
Coaches love the leadership skills in this kid. 'Team player', this is the correct term for him. He makes everyone around him better. Will make tight throws. Zips the ball around out there. Nothing to think about here. Pick up the kid, bring him into the building, put him om the field.

Pick 8: Toronto North
Larry Moore: Robert Michael - FS
His leadership is through the roof. He is on the frontline, always. Teammates love him. All he cares about is the team. He helps everyone succeed. He takes care of his teammates. Most everyone who ever played with him, counts him as their friend. Scouts like how well he tackles. He fills a hole at the position. Blue-chip player. Will fit right in and start right away. Love it.

Jim Nox: Joe Thompson - WR
His balance when catching the ball is good. He plays faster than his forty might indicate. Solid talent that fits their needs. Really that is all there is to it. Perfect situation. Take the money and run.

Pick 9: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: Ronald Covington - QB
He plays well with others. He understands there is a reason for each assignment on every play. He does not get fooled by coverages often. Zips the ball around out there. Rock solid player is just what they need. A great fit here, both in terms of need and quality.

Jim Nox: Ronald Covington - QB
Teammates love him. All he cares about is the team. He helps everyone succeed. Plays with decent intelligence. Sufficient arm strength for the pro game. A player that fits their needs. The promise of a future star. This will be great for the franchise.

Pick 10: Nova Scotia Vikings
Larry Moore: Joe Thompson - WR
Has really strong hands, and will pluck balls out of the air. Is too speedy for most safeties in man coverage and will blaze through zones, forcing the defense to be on their toes. This guy is available. This guy fills a need. They have to take him. It makes so much sense.

Jim Nox: Rodney Bonds - CB
Coaches are always looking to add more speed to the defensive backfield. This guy has enough to make an impact. They will be running to the podium for this one.
