WR Eric Sturgeon (WIN) goes #1 overall!

NEW YORK -- The Windsor Gamblers drafted Eric Sturgeon #1 overall in the 2032 draft. The 6' 1" WR fits the team's needs perfectly. Said Gamblers general manager: "It's up to us to develop him and get good players around him."

"The great thing about the game of football is, it's a team game," Sturgeon said on a conference call. "I'm just going to be one piece of the puzzle."

Moore and Nox Mock Draft

Pick 1: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: Eric Sturgeon - WR
This kid puts in the work. Rarely drops the ball. Big plays is what you get with this kid. That speed will make for incredible highlights. Do not be afraid to draft a position of need here. This kid is well worthy of a pick this early. Perfect situation for him, and great fit for the team.

Jim Nox: Eric Sturgeon - WR
This guy understands what it means to be a pro. Fine catching ability, often comes down with the ball even when pressured. If you miss the tackle, you will not catch this kid. The stars align for them to get him here. Just what they need. Blue-chip player with great upside. Hard to botch this pick.

Pick 2: Houston RoughRiders
Larry Moore: William Tinsley - G
The guy has his head on straight. Here you have a guy, who really benefits the atmosphere in the building. Everyone wants to be around him. Amazing strength given his young age. This kid can bench press a minibus. He can do what they want. He will deliver results early. He fits a need. End of story.

Jim Nox: William Tinsley - G
Knows what it takes to achieve success at any level. Liked by coaches and teammates. Did you see him bench press?! Wow! They almost have to make this pick. You do not want to look back in five years and see this kid on another team knowing he could have been yours.

Pick 3: BCFC Bears
Larry Moore: Boyce Ball - LB
The kind of leadership he shows makes coaches salivate. He helps everyone get in the right position, making the team run as a well oiled machine. Respected for his good behavior on the field. His strength is a good platform for him, surely a reason teams like him this high. Reacts intelligently on the field. Fits the bill, great quality pick, and fills a soft spot on the roster. They should have no qualms here, run to the podium and get your man.

Jim Nox: Boyce Ball - LB
Intangibles, leadership, what's not to love? Teammates love him. All he cares about is the team. He helps everyone succeed. His good natured behavior, even toward opponents have earned him some criticism, but also an awful lot of respect. Strong enough to flatten smaller blockers. And strong enough to not be flattened by the bigger ones. You do not need to tell him things twice. Very quick learner. They almost have to make this pick. You do not want to look back in five years and see this kid on another team knowing he could have been yours.

Pick 4: New Orleans Reapers
Larry Moore: Warren Ortiz - CB
Here is a kid that can make plays all over the field. His speed will be a great benefit to the defense. Might not be what fans want, but there is a reason people are getting paid to make these decisions. This is a rock solid pick, and he fits what they are looking for. Fans will come around quickly once they see him play.

Jim Nox: Warren Ortiz - CB
Nothing gets you drafted early like speed. This kid is going to get drafted early. Fill the need with a quality player. Best case scenario here.

Pick 5: Nova Scotia Vikings
Larry Moore: Jose Fitzsimmons - LB
Really strong. Will push through blocks. He will get a great chance to earn the starting job. He fits what they are looking for. He is a solid player. Cannot go wrong here.

Jim Nox: Horace Riley - CB
This kid is not afraid to work hard. This is the kind of kid you want to promote the game. Well behaved, loves the game, and respectful. Plug a hole in the roster with a great player. That is really what they need to do. This pick does it.

Pick 6: Seattle Totems
Larry Moore: Jorge Courtney - DE
His leadership is through the roof. He is on the frontline, always. He plays well with others. He understands there is a reason for each assignment on every play. Well liked in the locker room. He fills a need for them. Great pick here.

Jim Nox: Jorge Courtney - DE
Every team values leadership, someone to lead by example, this is the guy. He helps everyone get in the right position, making the team run as a well oiled machine. Known for being a bit of a joker in the locker room. but in the good way, everyone smiles when asked about him. Are there other guys worth picking here? Sure, but none of them fit this well with what they need, and he is a solid talent.

Pick 7: Toronto North
Larry Moore: Gino Bradshaw - G
Very coachable. That is an important trait for a guy you want to draft this early. Some might say this is a 'need' pick, but we must remember, this is a really good player as well. He will contribute early and often. No losers here.

Jim Nox: William Harmon - LB
Understands the game well. Knows what to do in different situations. When the available talent fits what you need, there is reason to celebrate. They are getting a great talent who will serve them for many years.

Pick 8: Memphis Pharaohs
Larry Moore: William Harmon - LB
If you look at his tape again, you can see he reacts quickly on the field. Some might say this is a 'need' pick, but we must remember, this is a really good player as well. He will contribute early and often. No losers here.

Jim Nox: Jose Fitzsimmons - LB
His physical foundation given him an nice ceiling. They gotta be happy to get this guy. Such a talent and he fits their needs. I would imagine the war room is celebrating when they make this pick.

Pick 9: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: Richard Beaulieu - FS
Known among his teammates as a hard worker. Known for helping out teammates, if they hit a rough patch, whether it is on the field or in their personal lives. He has more than enough speed to keep up with most receivers. Wraps up the ballcarrier on tackles. Are there other guys worth picking here? Sure, but none of them fit this well with what they need, and he is a solid talent.

Jim Nox: Richard Beaulieu - FS
Knows what it takes to achieve success at any level. Well liked in the locker room. Fast enough or man coverage. And enough speed to close fast when blitzing. Wraps up the ballcarrier on tackles. A player that fits their needs. The promise of a future star. This will be great for the franchise.

Pick 10: Houston RoughRiders
Larry Moore: Richard Bynum - G
Do not underestimate the strength this kid brings to the table. His pass blocking skills is something teams like about him. They need him now. Well yesterday actually. They will love him tomorrow. They will revere him by the end of his career.

Jim Nox: Gino Bradshaw - G
Coaches like his instincts. Fits the bill, great quality pick, and fills a soft spot on the roster. They should have no qualms here, run to the podium and get your man.
