DE Jay Muller (MEM) goes #1 overall!

NEW YORK -- The Memphis Pharaohs drafted Jay Muller #1 overall in the 2018 draft. The 6' 1" DE fits the team's needs perfectly. Said Pharaohs general manager: "It's up to us to develop him and get good players around him."

"The great thing about the game of football is, it's a team game," Muller said on a conference call. "I'm just going to be one piece of the puzzle."

Moore and Nox Mock Draft

Pick 1: Memphis Pharaohs
Larry Moore: Jay Muller - DE
Nice speed for a Defensive End. Enough to keep contain and get sacks. Well trained tackler. Plays with great insticts. Some might say this is a 'need' pick, but we must remember, this is a really good player as well. He will contribute early and often. No losers here.

Jim Nox: Stephen Mcalister - DE
Intangibles, leadership, what's not to love? He is fundamentally a good kid. You rarely see him commit stupid penalties. Strong enough to flatten smaller blockers. And strong enough to not be flattened by the bigger ones. Nice speed for a Defensive End. Enough to keep contain and get sacks. Rock solid player is just what they need. A great fit here, both in terms of need and quality.

Pick 2: Nova Scotia Sharks
Larry Moore: Mason Schweitzer - WR
His college tape shows him catching the ball well. Do not be afraid to draft a position of need here. This kid is well worthy of a pick this early. Perfect situation for him, and great fit for the team.

Jim Nox: Mason Schweitzer - WR
His balance when catching the ball is good. Nothing to think about here. Pick up the kid, bring him into the building, put him om the field.

Pick 3: Toronto North
Larry Moore: Joseph Olson - LB
Knows what it takes to achieve success at any level. I like the way he tackles. Wraps up the ball carrier and drags him down. No need to take chances. Works well in the classroom. Plug a hole in the roster with a great player. That is really what they need to do. This pick does it.

Jim Nox: Joseph Olson - LB
This kid is not afraid to work hard. On tape you clearly see that he is a good tackler. Plays with intelligence. They almost have to make this pick. You do not want to look back in five years and see this kid on another team knowing he could have been yours.

Pick 4: New Orleans Reapers
Larry Moore: Stephen Mcalister - DE
This is a player who takes the lead. Respected for his good behavior on the field. Strong enough to come of the edge in the pros. More than enough speed for the position. This will become evident as he develops. Fits nicely with their needs. Fits nicely with the draft spot. Getting it right is important with these early picks. This guy is right.

Jim Nox: Jay Muller - DE
While not elite, his speed is good enough to deliver pressure and keep contain. Finishes tackles well. Pretty smart. They will be running to the podium for this one.

Pick 5: Seattle Totems
Larry Moore: Ronald Tarver - C
Known among his teammates as a hard worker. This is the kind of kid you want to promote the game. Well behaved, loves the game, and respectful. Good understanding of the game, and what is required of each position. Fans, coaches, and teammates alike will be ecstatic to get him on the team. He fits what they need, he is such a great talent. Everything lines up.

Jim Nox: Juan Norton - LB
His good natured behavior, even toward opponents have earned him some criticism, but also an awful lot of respect. This is a kid who really contributes to the team spirit and the social cohesiveness on the team. This guy is pure muscle. He will shed blocks and hit he hole on run plays. Closing speed good enough to get to the Quarterback often. Once this kid gets in the building, they will be set at this position for years.

Pick 6: BCFC Bears
Larry Moore: Juan Norton - LB
Respected for his good behavior on the field. Known for helping out teammates, if they hit a rough patch, whether it is on the field or in their personal lives. In college, he dominated when bull rushing. He is strong enough that he can continue to do that in the pros. Scouts all say his speed is not a problem, he plays way faster than his forty time. He addresses a need for them.

Jim Nox: Matthew Mills - LB
'Team player', this is the correct term for him. He makes everyone around him better. He has sufficient strength to not get bulllied on run plays. Some might say this is a 'need' pick, but we must remember, this is a really good player as well. He will contribute early and often. No losers here.

Pick 7: Houston RoughRiders
Larry Moore: Shane Regalado - LB
Coaches love the leadership skills in this kid. Reliable tackler. This young man can hold his own in the weight room. And he is strong enough to hold his own on the field as well. He is alert and makes smart decisions to developments in the play. You need him, just get him already.

Jim Nox: John Cobbs - DT
His strength gives him a chance against the big boys in the pros. If you look at his tape again, you can see he reacts quickly on the field. It is not often that the talent available fits perfectly with what you need. When it does, it makes for a win-win situation. This young man is going to be put in a position to succeed.

Pick 8: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: Albert Spencer - DE
He is fundamentally a good kid. You rarely see him commit stupid penalties. This is a kid who really contributes to the team spirit and the social cohesiveness on the team. Strong enough to come of the edge in the pros. Coaches like guys who tackle well. Good understanding of the game, and what is required of each position. They need playmakers at this position. This is what they are getting here. Solid pick.

Jim Nox: Albert Spencer - DE
Sportsmanship, love of the sport and respect, is what you get with him. Well liked in the locker room. His strength is a good platform for him, surely a reason teams like him this high. He has been trained well, and it shows in the way he tackles. great technique. Shows keen understanding of the game. Fill a need, get a quality player, everyone wins! He will fit right in with the pros.

Pick 9: Memphis Pharaohs
Larry Moore: Michael Minter - DE
A real leader! Liked by coaches and teammates. He fills a need for them. They will be happy to get him.

Jim Nox: Michael Minter - DE
Teammates look to him for leadership, and he consistently delivers. Known among his teammates as a bit of a goofball, but never in a bad way. The kind that keeps spirits high even when a season goes south. Rock solid player is just what they need. A great fit here, both in terms of need and quality.

Pick 10: Nova Scotia Sharks
Larry Moore: Benjamin Beach - CB
Good instincts. Rock solid player is just what they need. A great fit here, both in terms of need and quality.

Jim Nox: William Mckinney - CB
Might not be what fans want, but there is a reason people are getting paid to make these decisions. This is a rock solid pick, and he fits what they are looking for. Fans will come around quickly once they see him play.
