Moore and Nox Mock Draft

Pick 1: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: Charles Mckinney - CB
Teammates gravitate toward him, they follow his lead. Coaches love that about him. His good natured behavior, even toward opponents have earned him some criticism, but also an awful lot of respect. Here you have a guy, who really benefits the atmosphere in the building. Everyone wants to be around him. Not a speedster per se, but enough to play man. He is faster than he is given credit for. Reacts intelligently on the field. They gotta be happy to get this guy. Such a talent and he fits their needs. I would imagine the war room is celebrating when they make this pick.

Jim Nox: Charles Mckinney - CB

Jim Nox: Ralph Goodrich - WR
Need a leader? He is your guy. Knows what it takes to achieve success at any level. Football is a team sport, and he knows it. Will occasionally impress you by coming down with throws others would not catch. You better not put a linebacker on this guy. Or a safety, for that matter. He is faster than his tape shows. Makes defenders miss. Maintains his balance after the catch. Will change direction to avoid tacklers. Fans, coaches, and teammates alike will be ecstatic to get him on the team. He fits what they need, he is such a great talent. Everything lines up.

Pick 3: Toronto North
Larry Moore: Zane Velazquez - T
Did you see him bench press?! Wow! Protects the QB well on pass plays. You can never have enough good pass blockers. He is alert and makes smart decisions to developments in the play. Once this kid gets in the building, they will be set at this position for years.

Jim Nox: Zane Velazquez - T
This guy is built like a tank. His pass blocking skills is something teams like about him. Plays with great insticts. Fits the bill, great quality pick, and fills a soft spot on the roster. They should have no qualms here, run to the podium and get your man.

Pick 4: New Orleans Reapers

Raised to know the value of hard work. Speedy enough to cover. Will need to cushion a bit on the faster receivers, but they will account for that in the play design. Tackles low and with good technique. Well schooled in the game, and it shows on the field. People always say you should not prioritize needs over quality. That is not an issue here, they get to have their cake and eat it too.

Consistently comes down with the ball. Nice speed. Will keep defenses honest. Nothing to think about here. Pick up the kid, bring him into the building, put him om the field.

Jim Nox: Jacob Wooley - WR
A leader on the field and in the locker room. The guy has his head on straight. He is fundamentally a good kid. You rarely see him commit stupid penalties. Is a natural catcher, and will only get better as he gains more experience. Pretty good straight line speed. Can run the deeper routes in the pros. He fills a hole at the position. Blue-chip player. Will fit right in and start right away. Love it.

This kid is not afraid to work hard. Teams are looking for players who will not break contain. This young man is strong enough to stay on his feet against grown men on the offensive line. Reacts instinctively to developments on the field. Solid talent that fits their needs. Really that is all there is to it. Perfect situation. Take the money and run.

Jim Nox: Albert Anderson - DT
Knows what it takes to achieve success at any level. While not the strongest kid we have seen, his strength is an asset. It gives him the platform to be a great player. They will be running to the podium for this one.

Pick 9: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: David Sherman - DE
They should not be afraid to fill a need here. He will start day one. Quality pick right here.

Coaching Carousel Predictions.

The offseason is upon us and that means teams are shaking up their coaching staffs. This means that we get to take our annual look at coordinators who could make the leap to become head coaches, and the teams who are likely to poach them.

The prime candidates identified by our experts are:
Teddy Davis - Defensive Coordinator - Nova Scotia Sharks
Jeffrey Clark - Defensive Coordinator - Houston RoughRiders
Robert Campbell - Offensive Coordinator - Houston RoughRiders
Eldridge Miller - Defensive Coordinator - BCFC Bears
John Donovan - Defensive Coordinator - New Orleans Reapers
Galen Gabriel - Offensive Coordinator - BCFC Bears
William Dix - Offensive Coordinator - Seattle Totems

To James Grigsby - QB, the past is the past.

James Grigsby is a great story, having worked his way out of a troubled youth. To many, Grigsby is becoming a posterboy for the league's ability to help talented young men rehabilitate themselves through sports.
