DT Numbers Pinson (WIN) goes #1 overall!

NEW YORK -- The Windsor Gamblers drafted Numbers Pinson #1 overall in the 1999 draft. The 6' 4" DT fits the team's needs perfectly. Said Gamblers general manager: "It's up to us to develop him and get good players around him."

"The great thing about the game of football is, it's a team game," Pinson said on a conference call. "I'm just going to be one piece of the puzzle."

Moore and Nox Mock Draft

Pick 1: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: Numbers Pinson - DT
His college coaches talk highly of his work ethic. While not the strongest kid we have seen, his strength is an asset. It gives him the platform to be a great player. He has a well developed tackling technique. Coaches like that. Bright kid, reacts well on the field. Do not fret. You need him, fans love him. Surefire pick.

Jim Nox: Numbers Pinson - DT
This guy understands what it means to be a pro. Can maintain his leverage and shed blocks. Not incredibly strong, but enough power that he rarely ends up on his back. Coaches like guys who tackle well. Reacts quickly and puts himself in a position to make a play. The stars align for them to get him here. Just what they need. Blue-chip player with great upside. Hard to botch this pick.

Pick 2: New Orleans Reapers
Larry Moore: Marcelo Joyce - T
His pass blocking skills is something teams like about him. They simply cannot pass on this guy here.

Jim Nox: Richard St. Clair - WR
He has good hands. His speed compliments his game, and will be a nice asset to the offense. You do not need to tell him things twice. Very quick learner. They simply cannot pass on this guy here.

Pick 3: Memphis Pharaohs
Larry Moore: Patrick Kirk - T
This kid breeds synergy, teams play better when he is on the field. Incredibly strength and physique. Pretty fast learner. They should not be afraid to fill a need here. He will start day one. Quality pick right here.

Jim Nox: Patrick Kirk - T
This kid breeds synergy, teams play better when he is on the field. Did you see him bench press?! Wow! If you look at his tape again, you can see he reacts quickly on the field. People always say you should not prioritize needs over quality. That is not an issue here, they get to have their cake and eat it too.

Pick 4: Edmonton Herd
Larry Moore: Paul Russell - WR
Catches the ball well, even while moving. Will dodge tacklers after the catch. Works well from the slot. They gotta be happy to get this guy. Such a talent and he fits their needs. I would imagine the war room is celebrating when they make this pick.

Jim Nox: Paul Russell - WR
Rarely drops the ball. Has the ability to change direction fluidly, which will allow him to work will over the middle. Fill a need, get a quality player, everyone wins! He will fit right in with the pros.

Pick 5: BCFC Bears
Larry Moore: James Lumpkin - LB
Strength is definitely one of his premier qualities. It will serve him well. Very coachable. When the available talent fits what you need, there is reason to celebrate. They are getting a great talent who will serve them for many years.

Jim Nox: James Lumpkin - LB
Could almost play Defensive End, he is that strong. Coaches love that versatility. Plays with intelligence. They need him now. Well yesterday actually. They will love him tomorrow. They will revere him by the end of his career.

Pick 6: Seattle Totems
Larry Moore: Richard St. Clair - WR
Coaches concur that his hands are more than adequate for the pro level. He plays faster than his forty might indicate. Makes smart decisions. Take the blue-chip player. Do not worry about sexier picks. He fits what you need and the quality is there.

Jim Nox: David Mcmahon - LB
Amazing strength for the position. Makes him versatile, and tells of his high ceiling. Fast enough to get around slower Offensive Tackles. Some might say this is a 'need' pick, but we must remember, this is a really good player as well. He will contribute early and often. No losers here.

Pick 7: Toronto North
Larry Moore: Sheldon Palumbo - LB
He is fundamentally a good kid. You rarely see him commit stupid penalties. Known for helping out teammates, if they hit a rough patch, whether it is on the field or in their personal lives. He has a well developed tackling technique. Coaches like that. Reliably makes the right decision on the field. Rock solid player is just what they need. A great fit here, both in terms of need and quality.

Jim Nox: Sheldon Palumbo - LB
He is fundamentally a good kid. You rarely see him commit stupid penalties. Known among his teammates as a bit of a goofball, but never in a bad way. The kind that keeps spirits high even when a season goes south. Consistently takes down ball carrier when he gets to him. Works well in the classroom. He addresses a need for them.

Pick 8: Houston RoughRiders
Larry Moore: David Mcmahon - LB
Can bull rush smaller Tight Ends and Fullbacks when blitzing. Coaches love this kind on their Linebackers. Not exactly a speed rusher, but has plenty of speed for the position. He fills a hole at the position. Blue-chip player. Will fit right in and start right away. Love it.

Jim Nox: Tommy Doan - LB
People watching his tape often do not notice his speed. It is not something that jumps out at you, but he is pretty fast. Are there other guys worth picking here? Sure, but none of them fit this well with what they need, and he is a solid talent.

Pick 9: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: Eugene McCain - DT
This kid puts in the work. His good natured behavior, even toward opponents have earned him some criticism, but also an awful lot of respect. This youngster simply cannot be moved. He is so strong. Good luck trying to block him on running plays. I like the way he tackles. Wraps up the ball carrier and drags him down. No need to take chances. He addresses a need for them.

Jim Nox: Eugene McCain - DT
This kid is not afraid to work hard. Sportsmanship, love of the sport and respect, is what you get with him. The kind of strength this kid brings to the table will command double teams. Having this guy on the field will free up others to make the play. Reliably takes down ball carrier when he gets his hands on him. They need players at the position, and good ones at that. He fits the bill, he is worth the pick. End of story.

Pick 10: New Orleans Reapers
Larry Moore: Domenic Royer - T
Execution in the running game is something coaches have noticed about him. He blocks pretty well. Don't choke here, just get the guy.

Jim Nox: Justin Roberts - T
Nice blocking skills on run plays. He will contribute to the running game. If you watch the tape again, you can see he plays with nice instincts. No need to overthink this, get the best guy available.
