Game of the Week: Memphis Pharaohs at Houston RoughRiders

Our Expert Predictions:

Jeremy Piper : Memphis Pharaohs
For this game, I think we need to recognize that they will struggle with containing players like Morgan Goodin - DT. Expect him to show up in a big way. It may come down to the wire though.

Mary Moore : Houston RoughRiders
They have a dominant defense. They do not get enough credit for that. They are 4th in sacks with 17. They are 1st in points allowed, averaging only 15.2. They are 4th in pass defense. They only give up 235.2 per game. They are 1st in run defense. Giving up only 51 yards per game. They are 5th in the league in tackles for loss. Darren Francis : Houston RoughRiders
But it will be much closer than many think..

Our Expert Predictions:

Jeremy Piper : New Orleans Reapers

Our Expert Predictions:

Jeremy Piper : Seattle Totems
Looking at the teams, there is every reason to think that Elliott Sams - WR has to potential to carry the Totems offense.

Mary Moore : Seattle Totems
One of the most underestimated defenses.

Jim Nox : Memphis Pharaohs
For this game, my best guess is that the offense will struggle to counter Jonathan Devine - FS. Watch out for him.

Darren Francis : Seattle Totems

Game of the Week: Edmonton Herd at Houston RoughRiders

Our Expert Predictions:

Jeremy Piper : Edmonton Herd
I find it hard to bet against coach Shawn Merchant. He always has them well prepared. Offensively he is a great and innovative thinker. Really this could go either way, but you will never get me to admit it.

Mary Moore : Houston RoughRiders
A close win.

Jim Nox : Edmonton Herd
Looking at how the teams match up, I agree with popular opinion that John Sharpe will be dominant here. The young WR is going to cause headaches for any defense. This week is no difference. I expect some incredible plays in this game.

Darren Francis : Houston RoughRiders
People tend to underestimate their offense.

Moore and Nox Mock Draft

Pick 1: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: Michael Pierce - LB
Here you have a guy, who really benefits the atmosphere in the building. Everyone wants to be around him. Consistent tackler. This guy is pure muscle. He will shed blocks and hit he hole on run plays. He is smart, and plays with good instincts. Once this kid gets in the building, they will be set at this position for years.

Jim Nox: Michael Pierce - LB
Known for helping out teammates, if they hit a rough patch, whether it is on the field or in their personal lives. Pretty good tackling fundamentals. That is something coaches love. Really strong for a Linebacker. This is something that teams love. A cerebral player. They should not be afraid to fill a need here. He will start day one. Quality pick right here.

Pick 2: Toronto North

Teams want players can hold the middle. He is strong enough to stay on his feet against grown men. Might not be what fans want, but there is a reason people are getting paid to make these decisions. Larry Moore: Zachariah Tran - WR
Known among his teammates as a bit of a goofball, but never in a bad way. The kind that keeps spirits high even when a season goes south. His college teammates all point to how smart he is. You cannot coach strength. You either have it or not, and this guy has it! Reacts instinctively to developments on the field. I know a lot of people have been waiting impatiently to see him play at the pro level. The wait just got a little shorter.

Jim Nox: Joseph Conners - LB
He has a well developed tackling technique. Coaches like that. He fills a need for them. Great pick here.

Pick 6: Seattle Totems
Larry Moore: Williams Ybarra - G
Known among his teammates as a hard worker. Liked by coaches and teammates. This is a young man who will bench press a Defensive Tackle, and not a small one! Reacts instinctively to developments on the field. People always say you should not prioritize needs over quality. That is not an issue here, they get to have their cake and eat it too.

Jim Nox: Williams Ybarra - G
Due to his work ethic, this kid is very coachable. This is a kid who really contributes to the team spirit and the social cohesiveness on the team. This is a young man who, in terms of strength, can go toe to toe with the biggest defensive linemen. He is sharp, and that makes him very coachable. They need him now. Well yesterday actually. They will love him tomorrow. They will revere him by the end of his career.

Pick 7: Edmonton Herd
Larry Moore: Willie Whalen - DE
Here is a kid who no one doubts will put in the work. Has developed nice strength for being this early in his career. Consistently takes down ball carrier on tackles. Pretty bright kid. Once this kid gets in the building, they will be set at this position for years.

Jim Nox: Kenton Myers - WR

Pick 8: Houston RoughRiders
Larry Moore: Ronnie Clark - G
Raised to know the value of hard work. Even though this is a youngster right out of college, he is strong like a grown man. Fits nicely with their needs. Fits nicely with the draft spot. Getting it right is important with these early picks. This guy is right.

Jim Nox: William Mcdaniel - CB
Nice speed. Will allow him to do a lot of things. Some might say this is a 'need' pick, but we must remember, this is a really good player as well. He will contribute early and often. No losers here.

Pick 9: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: Ben Woody - SS
Knows what it takes to achieve success at any level. Respected for his good behavior on the field. Not the fastest guy, but his speed is definitely an asset. When the available talent fits what you need, there is reason to celebrate. They are getting a great talent who will serve them for many years.

Jim Nox: Willie Whalen - DE
Raised to know the value of hard work. Strong enough to flatten smaller blockers. And strong enough to not be flattened by the bigger ones. Solid technique on tackles. Reliably makes the right decision on the field. They should not be afraid to fill a need here. He will start day one. Quality pick right here.

Pick 10: Toronto North

They need playmakers at this position. This is what they are getting here. Solid pick.

Jim Nox: Michael Wheeler - DT
This kid puts in the work. He is driven by the love of the sport. Known for helping out teammates, if they hit a rough patch, whether it is on the field or in their personal lives.
