We feel the other Canadian teams have taken a step back. I'll be shocked, and highly upset with our squad, if we are not sitting in the Brewmaster Bowl, at minimum, this year. Anything less than that will be a huge disappointment!" Wow... Shots fired! When asked to respond, Toronto GM Spear commented, "Lucky win, on a lucky play. We'll get them next time!" Toronto has a bye next week, and it appears as though the GM is still basking in the big win as the entire team was seen boarding the Magical Express on the way to Disney World to celebrate their big Week 1 win.

NEW YORK -- The Windsor Gamblers drafted Glenn Sizemore #1 overall in the 1993 draft. The 6' 3" LB fits the team's needs perfectly. Said Gamblers general manager: "It's up to us to develop him and get good players around him."

"The great thing about the game of football is, it's a team game," Sizemore said on a conference call. "I'm just going to be one piece of the puzzle."

Moore and Nox Mock Draft

Pick 1: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: Darrell Meeker - DT
Liked by coaches and teammates. He has sufficient strength to not get bulllied on run plays. Bright kid, reacts well on the field. He fills a need for them. They will be happy to get him.

Jim Nox: Darrell Meeker - DT
Well liked in the locker room. Nice strength for his age. Will definitely help him in the pros. Good understanding of the game, and what is required of each position. It is not often that the talent available fits perfectly with what you need. When it does, it makes for a win-win situation. This young man is going to be put in a position to succeed.

Pick 2: Toronto North
Larry Moore: Wally Riley - G
Incredibly strength and physique. His pass blocking skills is something teams like about him. Fill the need with a quality player. Best case scenario here.

Jim Nox: Darren Lassiter - G
Raised to know the value of hard work. Sportsmanship, love of the sport and respect, is what you get with him. Here you have a guy, who really benefits the atmosphere in the building. Everyone wants to be around him. Run blocking is very different when facing college kids than the full-grown men in the pros. This kid has the skills to do the latter. He can hold his own in the passing game. Will improve once he finetunes his technique, but he is already pretty good. He will get a great chance to earn the starting job. He fits what they are looking for. He is a solid player. Cannot go wrong here.

Pick 3: Seattle Totems
Larry Moore: Glenn Sizemore - LB
This is a young man who has enough strength to shed blocks. Did I mention strength?. Take the blue-chip player. Do not worry about sexier picks. He fits what you need and the quality is there.

Jim Nox: Glenn Sizemore - LB
This young man can hold his own in the weight room. And he is strong enough to hold his own on the field as well. Do not fret. You need him, fans love him. Surefire pick.

Pick 4: BCFC Bears
Larry Moore: George Cave - DE
This kid is not afraid to work hard. People watching his tape often do not notice his speed. It is not something that jumps out at you, but he is pretty fast. They would be crazy not to take him here. A great fit, both in terms of what they need and the quality of player they get. This will put a smile on many faces.

Jim Nox: Andy Wilson - DT
It is clear from his tape, that he wraps up well on tackles. A player that fits their needs. The promise of a future star. This will be great for the franchise.

Pick 5: Memphis Pharaohs
Larry Moore: Toby Miller - TE
Knows what it takes to achieve success at any level. Pretty good straight line speed. They will be running to the podium for this one.

Jim Nox: Toby Miller - TE
Raised to know the value of hard work. Add more speed to the offense. Why would you not? Fill a need, get a quality player, everyone wins! He will fit right in with the pros.

Pick 6: BCFC Bears
Larry Moore: Neal Taylor - SS
Due to his work ethic, this kid is very coachable. This is the kind of kid you want to promote the game. Well behaved, loves the game, and respectful. Known among his teammates as a bit of a goofball, but never in a bad way. The kind that keeps spirits high even when a season goes south. Coaches like how well he tackles. Pretty smart. They would be crazy not to take him here. A great fit, both in terms of what they need and the quality of player they get. This will put a smile on many faces.

Jim Nox: Ben Golden - WR
His college tape shows him catching the ball well. Great balance. Runs good routes, and that is really something coaches are looking for in kids. Good instincts. This guy is available. This guy fills a need. They have to take him. It makes so much sense.

Pick 7: Edmonton Herd
Larry Moore: Darren Lassiter - G
His college coaches talk highly of his work ethic. His good natured behavior, even toward opponents have earned him some criticism, but also an awful lot of respect. He takes care of his teammates. Most everyone who ever played with him, counts him as their friend. He comes of the line with power and leverage on run plays. This is something that scouts notice. Pass blocking against professional players makes for a difficult transition from college. But the tape indicates he will do well in that regard. Fill the need with a quality player. Best case scenario here.

Jim Nox: Howard Stovall - G
Run blocking is very different when facing college kids than the full-grown men in the pros. This kid has the skills to do the latter. Fill the need with a quality player. Best case scenario here.

Pick 8: Houston RoughRiders
Larry Moore: Gabriel Dawson - FS
Every team would benefit from his leadership. Fast enough to play man coverage. Can go toe to toe with most receivers. Understands the game well. Knows what to do in different situations. Fans, coaches, and teammates alike will be ecstatic to get him on the team. He fits what they need, he is such a great talent. Everything lines up.

Jim Nox: Gabriel Dawson - FS
Every team would benefit from his leadership. He has more than enough speed to keep up with most receivers. Reliably makes the right decision on the field. Some might say this is a 'need' pick, but we must remember, this is a really good player as well. He will contribute early and often. No losers here.

Pick 9: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: Andy Wilson - DT
Wraps up the ballcarrier on tackles. They need players at the position, and good ones at that. He fits the bill, he is worth the pick. End of story.

Jim Nox: Jerry Garcia - CB
He is fundamentally a good kid. You rarely see him commit stupid penalties. Known for helping out teammates, if they hit a rough patch, whether it is on the field or in their personal lives. Fast enough to play man coverage. Can go toe to toe with most receivers. They need players at the position, and good ones at that. He fits the bill, he is worth the pick. End of story.

Pick 10: Toronto North
Larry Moore: Howard Stovall - G
Scouts love his understanding for opening running lanes in the running game. They would be crazy not to take him here. A great fit, both in terms of what they need and the quality of player they get. This will put a smile on many faces.

Jim Nox: Wally Riley - G
With this guy on the team, they will have to buy extra weights. He is just that strong. His pass blocking skills is something teams like about him. Do not fret. You need him, fans love him. Surefire pick.
