Looking at the two rosters, my line of thinking is that Karl Osteen - DT will be a key player to watch. Not only is he a beast on the Bears defense, he is a walking highlight reel.

Darren Francis : BCFC Bears
They greatly outscore them here.

Is Grey on the Way Out

Windsor has made it known this week that they are looking for trade offers for Carson Grey. The former #1 pick was described as an utter disaster by GM GoRpn. "If we could do it all over again, we don't make that pick. Grey's idea of studying game tape is taking the team playbook to the strip bar and glancing at the plays in between songs. Completely unprofessional!" When hearing about this shot across the bow, Grey fired back at the disgruntled GM, "Grey's gotta ball! This guy, what a baseball GM in the desert thinks he can run a football team. Whatever man. Completely nonsense the way this team is set up. Grey's gotta be the man. It's hard to fly like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys!" I guess we'll see how this turns out as the trade deadline nears. Up next on the schedule for Toronto, a battle with the 0-4 Toronto North. Maybe things are starting to look up for the Gamblers.

News in New Orleans is that Freddy Baker - WR is among the favorites in his generation for the future hall of fame. Clearly, after 10 seasons in the league, playing at his level, it is hard to dispute. Hall of fame or not, Baker is a legend, not only in New Orleans, but nationally. LB Evan Williams (BCFC) goes #1 overall!

NEW YORK -- The BCFC Bears drafted Evan Williams #1 overall in the 1992 draft. The 6' 1" LB fits the team's needs perfectly. Said Bears general manager: "It's up to us to develop him and get good players around him."

"The great thing about the game of football is, it's a team game," Williams said on a conference call. "I'm just going to be one piece of the puzzle."

Moore and Nox Mock Draft

Pick 1: BCFC Bears
Larry Moore: Andre Dunaway - CB
Coaches are always looking to add more speed to the defensive backfield. This guy has enough to make an impact. Pretty bright kid. He will immediately become a contributor. Fans will love this pick. Coaches will love this pick.

Jim Nox: Andre Dunaway - CB
Fast enough to play man coverage. Can go toe to toe with most receivers. Reacts quickly and puts himself in a position to make a play. Getting it right here is what makes and breaks franchises. Get a blue-chip player and never look back.

Pick 2: Seattle Totems
Larry Moore: Evan Williams - LB
Hits ballcarriers low, taking no chances. His physical foundation given him an nice ceiling. Is speedy enough to stay on the field in passing situations. He fills a hole at the position. Blue-chip player. Will fit right in and start right away. Love it.

Jim Nox: Evan Williams - LB
Reliable tackler. The expectation is that his strength will translate into fumbles. It will definitely help him shed blocks and produce big hits. Scouts all say his speed is not a problem, he plays way faster than his forty time. When the available talent fits what you need, there is reason to celebrate. They are getting a great talent who will serve them for many years.

Pick 3: Windsor Gamblers
Larry Moore: David Louis - DT
A good tackler. Are there other guys worth picking here? Sure, but none of them fit this well with what they need, and he is a solid talent.

Jim Nox: David Louis - DT
Consistently takes down ball carrier when he gets to him. They gotta be happy to get this guy. Such a talent and he fits their needs. I would imagine the war room is celebrating when they make this pick.

Pick 4: Memphis Pharaohs
Larry Moore: David Croteau - LB
His good natured behavior, even toward opponents have earned him some criticism, but also an awful lot of respect. Has sufficient strength to play with the big boys in the pros. Mightily fast on his first step. Could become a true sack machine. Fits nicely with their needs. Fits nicely with the draft spot. Getting it right is important with these early picks. This guy is right.

Jim Nox: David Croteau - LB
This is the kind of kid you want to promote the game. Well behaved, loves the game, and respectful. His strength is a good platform for him, surely a reason teams like him this high. Mightily fast on his first step. Could become a true sack machine. They almost have to make this pick. You do not want to look back in five years and see this kid on another team knowing he could have been yours.

Pick 5: New Orleans Reapers
Larry Moore: Dean Seeley - DE
The guy has his head on straight. This is the kind of kid you want to promote the game. Well behaved, loves the game, and respectful. This is a kid who really contributes to the team spirit and the social cohesiveness on the team. Shows good understanding of his assignments on the field. A player that fits their needs. The promise of a future star. This will be great for the franchise.

Jim Nox: Owen Nelson - LB
Every team would benefit from his leadership. In addition to his own role, this kid doubles as glue. He makes everyone on the field play as a team. He is fundamentally a good kid. You rarely see him commit stupid penalties. His strength is a good platform for him, surely a reason teams like him this high. Nothing to think about here. Pick up the kid, bring him into the building, put him om the field.

Pick 6: Edmonton Herd
Larry Moore: Bradley Cheatham - CB
This kid is not afraid to work hard. Known among his teammates as a bit of a goofball, but never in a bad way. The kind that keeps spirits high even when a season goes south. Speedy enough to cover. Will need to cushion a bit on the faster receivers, but they will account for that in the play design. Fans might not be on board with what can be framed as a need pick. But trust me once they see this kid play, they will be more than happy.

Jim Nox: Bradley Cheatham - CB
Raised to know the value of hard work. The guy has gets along with everyone. Good closing speed. Can run with most players. Makes him very versatile. Fill a need, get a quality player, everyone wins! He will fit right in with the pros.

Pick 7: Toronto North
Larry Moore: Mark Hess - T
Here you have a kid who puts in the work to succeed. Sportsmanship, love of the sport and respect, is what you get with him. He takes care of his teammates. Most everyone who ever played with him, counts him as their friend. Even if he is not the strongest, coaches like his strength. And he has enough of it. They need him now. Well yesterday actually. They will love him tomorrow. They will revere him by the end of his career.

Jim Nox: Bruce Buxton - TE
Here is a kid who no one doubts will put in the work. This is the kind of kid you want to promote the game. Well behaved, loves the game, and respectful. He plays much faster than his forty might indicate. Defenses will learn that the hard way. Knowledgeable of the game. Fits the bill, great quality pick, and fills a soft spot on the roster. They should have no qualms here, run to the podium and get your man.

Pick 8: Houston RoughRiders
Larry Moore: Dwain Reyes - C
What you get with this kid, is a guy who understands that this is a team sport. He will have a legit shot at winning bets arm wrestling the veterans. The kind of strength this kid has earns a lot of respect in a locker room. The stars align for them to get him here. Just what they need. Blue-chip player with great upside. Hard to botch this pick.

Jim Nox: Dwain Reyes - C
What you get with this kid, is a guy who understands that this is a team sport. Incredibly strength and physique. He will get a great chance to earn the starting job. He fits what they are looking for. He is a solid player. Cannot go wrong here.

Pick 9: BCFC Bears
Larry Moore: Kelley Musgrove - FS
Respected for his good behavior on the field. Well liked in the locker room. Fast enough or man coverage. And enough speed to close fast when blitzing. This pick will be a boon for the organization.

Jim Nox: Richard Jefferson - SS
Raised to know the value of hard work. You cannot coach speed. Even if you could, this guy would not need it. Coaches like his technique when tackling. They get undisputed quality with this pick. It might not fill a need, but they should not care about that here. Get the future star, worry about needs later.

Pick 10: Seattle Totems
Larry Moore: Owen Nelson - LB
Not afraid to lead. Raised to know the value of teamwork. His good natured behavior, even toward opponents have earned him some criticism, but also an awful lot of respect. Not the strongest, but strong enough. Can maintain his leverage and shed blocks. They need him now. Well yesterday actually. They will love him tomorrow. They will revere him by the end of his career.

Jim Nox: Dean Seeley - DE
Here is a kid who no one doubts will put in the work. He is fundamentally a good kid. You rarely see him commit stupid penalties. Known for being a bit of a joker in the locker room. but in the good way, everyone smiles when asked about him. Pretty clever. He can do what they want. He will deliver results early. He fits a need. End of story.

League Suspects Tampering

League Commissioner. Donald Trump, spoke to the media today about a possible undercover operation performed by one of it's franchises. Someone in the Edmonton front office levied a charged against the Seattle franchise for making advances toward DE Robert Nicholas outside of the free agent signing period. An unknown Herd staffer mentioned that they have had a PI following the new Seattle GM for some time, as they had heard he had secretly confiscated some personnel emails from GM PaulECee and heard they were targeting some of Edmonton's players. In something out of a John Grisham novel, it appears as though, that same private investigator, has video footage of Seattle GM, LeintyFresh, and Robert Nicholas signing a contract at a local Bob Evans days before the league allowed such deals. "We had plans to bring Robby back to his beloved Herd team," PaulECee mentioned to the media, When THAT team decided it would entice him with a Grand Slam breakfast. We just can't compete on that level." Seattle had no comment at the time this went to press. Needless to say, we are very excited about the Seattle Edmonton match-ups later in the year.

Charles Lay has retired from coaching

Charles Lay has announced his decision to retire from coaching. Lay worked latest for the Reapers as Offensive Coordinator. Rumours have it he is heading to politics.

Possible Holdout

Reports out of Edmonton have star wide Receiver, John Sharpe, apparently feeling a little disgruntled at the Herd Front Office. "We had a garbage draft, followed by a garbage Free Agency period. Who are these losers. I've only got a year left, and there is no way that I'm spending it here, if this dog and pony show persists." According to someone with knowledge inside the Sharpe camp, the wideout is seriously contemplating holding out this off-season unless there are serious changes, starting at the top! Apparently Mata and Bogan have also come under fire. "Get me the damn ball... Early, late, in between. Johnny breaks the game open. Johnny needs the damn ball!" Asked for comment, GM PaulECee, responded with a shrug, "That's man's not going anywhere. He's a Herd for life. We're actually debating on an 8 year extension. He's a wide receiver, of course he wants the ball. Name a receiver that doesn't." With the off season just beginning, this story may still have a few unhappy chapters left in it!
